About Vidyalay Library:
The library of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Sector -47, Second Shift, Chandigarh effectively caters to the needs and requirements of the students and teachers of the vidyalaya. Library has a collection of 3713 books on record, consisting of 1956 Hindi language books and 1757 English Language books. It subscribes 24 Periodicals and Magazines and 8 daily newspapers. The library is fully automated with E-Granthalaya Software version 4.0. All the books have been bar-coded and students have been given library cards and I-cards bearing bar-codes of their admission numbers. The issue – return system is carried out with the help of computer and scanner.
The ambience of the library has been kept up to the mark, having a seating capacity of more than 48 chairs and 8 tables. Air-conditioning systems are provided for keeping the environment of the library favorable in all the seasons. Open access system is followed for optimum utilization of library resources. Different types of activities and programs are conducted time to time as per the Annual Library Activity Plan of the library.
